The upcoming shortage of physicians was flagged in the early 2000s by several industry experts, warning we would not meet future healthcare needs if not strategically dealt with immediately.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK215247\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">*<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-efe2b29 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"efe2b29\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">How did the healthcare workforce crisis develop?<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eef4fe6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eef4fe6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Today, the ageing population in the United States, Europe, and other countries have significantly increased the demand for healthcare services. As people live longer, the incidence of chronic diseases and the need for ongoing medical care rise. Thus, requiring more healthcare workers to manage this growing patient population.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d0ef3c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d0ef3c0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>At the same time, a considerable portion of the healthcare workforce, especially physicians, is also aging and approaching retirement, exacerbating the shortfall as experienced practitioners leave the workforce without enough new professionals to replace them.
