GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer, and it is a large language model that was developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OpenAI<\/a>. ChatGPT is designed to generate human-like text responses based on text-based prompts. It can answer questions, hold text conversations, summarise research, write and correct copy, compose essays, and describe things in detail, among other things. ChatGPT and GPT-4 use complex algorithms, a large language model, and vast amounts of data to generate specific, sophisticated, personalised, and contextualised responses based on the user&#8217;s request.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0677241 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0677241\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>AI has become a buzzword across industries, and healthcare is no exception. AI tools such as GPT-4 could potentially be used in healthcare for medical diagnosis, analysing electronic health records, medical research, patient interaction, and medical education. Researchers have been working on AI applications in healthcare for decades. However, recent advancements in machine learning and natural language processing have made AI more accessible and effective. AI tools such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and predictive analytics are being used to improve patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and reduce costs. Today, AI is used in some areas of healthcare, including medical imaging, drug discovery, and to make patient care more personalised. Here are some examples:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4f7eb5f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4f7eb5f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Medical Imaging<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4e21513 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4e21513\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>AI algorithms are being used to analyse medical images such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs to assist physicians in detecting and diagnosing diseases. According to a study published in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-021-26023-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nature<\/a>, an AI system has been developed to assist radiologists in detecting breast cancer in ultrasound images. The system achieved an accuracy level comparable to that of ten board-certified radiologists, and when used in conjunction with radiologists, reduced false-positive rates by 37.3% and unnecessary biopsies by 27.8%.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b6d6e0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3b6d6e0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Drug Discovery<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fa77d60 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fa77d60\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Another area AI is showing promise is in drug discovery. The results show that healthcare professionals believe that AI will have a significant impact on healthcare in the upcoming years, being among the top four predicted trends globally. This demonstrates the optimism that healthcare professionals have regarding the potential of AI in healthcare.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eb2ff3a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eb2ff3a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>However, in this M3 Pulse survey, we wanted to find out if there are any concerns amongst HCPs regarding the way Artificial Intelligence may be used by patients in the future. More specifically, we asked 2,410 healthcare professionals across Europe and the US how concerned they are that generative AI models could become the main source of self-diagnosis for patients within the next few years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-90490e9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"90490e9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The results indicate that the majority of healthcare professionals (72%) are at least moderately concerned about the possibility of generative AI models becoming the primary source of self-diagnosis for patients in the near future. This includes 22% who are very concerned, 25% who are concerned, and 25% who are moderately concerned. 11% of respondents are not concerned at all about this possibility, whilst 16% are slightly concerned.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2d74a35 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2d74a35\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As a healthcare professional, do you agree?
